ANZCVS invites you to submit an abstract of your research for presentation at the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists Vet Science Week 2026 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Event dates are from Friday 24th July to Sunday 26th July 2026. The contribution of presenters is critical and we value your input greatly.

Vet Science Week 2026 will host a number of abstract sessions within the program. The following Chapters accepting abstract submissions for Vet Science Week 2026 are:

VSW26 will allow the following presentation type:
- Oral Presentation (15-minute presentation, comprising of a 12-minute presentation + 3-minutes for questions).
In order to submit an abstract for Vet Science Week you must create a New Account.
Once you have created a New Account you will be redirected to the Presentation Portal where you can submit your abstract. If you have already created an account and need to log in to update or edit your submissions, you will be required to enter your email address that was used to create your abstract submission account.
If you cannot remember your email account or password, please reach out to the Vet Science Week team via email and they can send you a log in and password reset should you require it. Please email vetscienceweek@arinexgroup.com.
- Abstracts must be submitted using the template and uploaded as a Word Document in eOrganiser (see Instructions in the Abstract Submission Guidelines).
- Abstracts must be submitted in English. Your abstracts must be print ready.
- Maximum number of words in the main body of the abstract is 250 words.
- Do not include the title of your abstract or author names and affiliations in the abstract body. These will be automatically populated on the final abstract document based on the details you entered into the relevant sections of the abstract submission site.
- Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
- It is the responsibility of the submitting author to ensure that the submission has been approved by all authors.
- The Chapter nor Science Week Organisers will not be responsible for any errors published.

Appendix A: Research Abstract Format Template
ABSTRACT TITLE OF LESS THAN 10 WORDS
Introduction: Maximum three lines in word and should concisely summarise the background for the study.
Materials and Methods: Must provide sufficient information to allow the quality of the study to be evaluated. Specific details of the number of animals studied and doses of drugs given must be recorded. Generic names should be used for all drugs. Statistical methods should be included.
Results: Must include data. Individual P values for results are not necessary in the abstract text, but authors must make clear which results were statistically significant.
Conclusions: Should be drawn from the data presented in the abstract without repetition of results.

Appendix B: Case Study/Series Format Template
ABSTRACT TITLE OF LESS THAN 10 WORDS
Introduction: Maximum three lines in word and should concisely summarise the background and context of the case.
Case series summary: Describes history, examination, results and working diagnosis. The management and outcome of the case should also be included.
Relevance and Novel Information: Describes the lessons learned and how the study offers novel insight/innovation regarding clinical case management or adds significantly to existing knowledge.

For the ASVP conference, if you are submitting a standard research or clinical case abstract for the program, please use the standard guidelines in the tab “Abstract Guidelines” and the appropriate template (Appendix A or B). For submission for the “Mystery Slide” session, please follow the instructions below.
Submissions to the ASVP Mystery Slide session requires completion and uploading of three documents, ASVP Mystery Slide – Template 1 and ASVP Mystery Slide – Template 2 and Digital Slide Image.
The ASVP Template 1 document will be loaded to the Australian Animal Pathology Standards Program (AAPSP) website along with the digitally scanned slide. Delegates who register for the conference will have access to the slide and associated information so they can provide an interpretation. After the session, the second document (ASVP Template 2) is loaded onto the website with what the presenter considers to be the most appropriate diagnostic information.

- Abstracts must be submitted by Friday 13 March 2026.
- Abstracts will not be accepted via fax, email, mail or USB/CD.
- All fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed.
- Acceptance of abstracts for presentation at Vet Science Week will be on the basis of the Chapter’s selection.
- All presenting authors will be required to register and pay for Vet Science Week by the author registration deadline of Friday 15 May 2026 to ensure that their abstract(s) are included in the final program.
- It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly.
- After an author has submitted their abstract, they must check their submission to ensure the document has been uploaded correctly. Authors can check their submission by clicking on the viewing option in the submission form.
- The Vet Science Week Organisers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by Internet services outages or other unforeseen events.
Each abstract will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Relevance to the Chapter theme.
- Scientific quality
- Originality and novelty
- Ethical and methodological rigor
- Relevance
- Clarity and organisation
International delegates can request for an official Welcome Letter from the Vet Week Organisers to assist with their VISA Applications after paying for their Science Week registration. Please forward a copy of your registration confirmation email and receipt to the Vet Science Week Organisers at register.vetscienceweek@arinexgroup.com and request for a Welcome Letter.
Please note that the above must be provided otherwise your request will be denied.
